TINY

Miniature Sculpture Art Exhibition

In my artistic practice, I find inspiration in altering the visual proportions of objects. More precisely, I use only a small percentage of the objects in these works to create art. Through these artworks, I explore the core essence of objects, whether they are depictions of living or nonliving things. These works, which are abstracted from reality, are given life by the harmonies of color, texture, and shape that result from the reactions of the heated and melted substances that I utilize. I believe that the best way for me to investigate my subjectivity is through this training and practice in art, which escapes from a big space and concentrates on a little one.

TINY

Among the raw materials I've worked with so far, copper metal is my absolute favorite. Its surface patterns and color combinations consistently create an awe-inspiring and psychological ambiance. Even though I frequently have to work in hazardous and exhausting conditions, artistlasantha enjoy the surface nature and colors that can be achieved.

What stands out here is that my ambition and interest in studying things around me in a different way often lead me ahead through art practices. The environment has been the theme of the majority of my recent artworks. Cultural facts were also considered in the design. In addition, I am also experimenting with metal-based sculpture and painting. There, I have a particular fondness for copper and brass as the primary metals.

MEET THE ARTIST

I'm Lasantha Epasinghe, and I was born and raised in a remote location. The family I belong to comprises five people, including one brother and sister. The majority of our childhood recollections were associated with the surroundings in which we grew up. After that, I moved to the city for my advanced studies. I've been interested in many aesthetic things since I was a child. Later, I recognized that the inspiration had to come from my father. However, I have had an intense passion and skill for the subject of art since I was a child. My school and higher studies were both in the field of art, and I went on to complete my first degree in sculpture at the University of Visual  and Performing Arts, Sri Lanka. I am currently working as a full-time visual artist.

In the course of my research, I frequently focus on environmental, cultural, and political concerns. In addition, as an artist with an art degree, I am continuously attempting to carry out creative work in an experimental manner by nurturing my creations using a variety of raw materials. I am particularly interested in sculptural art and am currently working with cement, wood, fiber, copper, brass, and iron.

Furthermore, knowing different types of raw materials and using them for design is the major goal of my academic study in order to sustain my art creations. I am currently a visual artist specializing in performance arts, installation art, painting, and sculpture. As a young designer that attempts new designs, I am continually looking for new knowledge with these perspectives and giving visual art admirers a new experience.
